Billie Holiday - TRAV'LIN' LIGHT (The Billie Holiday Songbook)
I'm trav'lin' light
Because my man has gone
So from now on
I'm trav'lin' light
He said goodbye
And took my heart away
So from today
I'm trav'lin' light
No one to see
I'm free as the breeze
No one but me
And my memories
Some lucky night
He may come back again
So until then
I'm trav'lin' light
No one to see
I'm free as the breeze
No one but me
And my memories
Some lucky night
He may come back again
So until then
I'm trav'lin' light

Here, she is singing Trav'lin Light written by Johnny Mercer & Jimmy Mundy. She is at the end of her
life and her health is decreasing, but she still sings her heart out. Thank you to nerdhoe for ...

Like she has any room for criticism with her heroin addiction

I love that she sings behind the behind a little. Frank Sinatra does that too. Jascha Heifetz sometimes does that in his music as well. It sounds absolutely beautiful. Good observation!

Hauntingly beautiful from Billies' phrasing to the stunning arrangement!
She says it all though...
'right and wrong don't matter when you're with me sweet'
